Add a public charging bolt-on


With Onto you’ve got the flexibility to include charging in your subscription! Unless you choose a no-charging option, your subscription will give you access to 20,000+ chargers across the UK, and beyond. 

Whatever you choose, we’re here to make your charging life as hassle-free as possible. You will still be able to access our partner networks if and when you need to with our charging bolt-ons:

  • Public Charging bolt-on (including Shell Recharge aggregated network and Tesla Superchargers for Tesla cars): £40
  • InstaVolt charging bolt-on: £120

How to add the public charging bolt-on?

The Public Charging bolt-on can be added at any point through the ‘Bolt-on’ section of ‘My Account’.

Please note, these bolt-ons will be visible in My Account web and in your User Hire Agreement after your next renewal, but will not initially be visible in the mobile app - we're working on it, it will be available soon.

How to add the InstaVolt charging bolt-on?  

If you want the InstaVolt charging bolt-on, just email us at info@on.to to request it.

How does it work?  

Each car is supplied with Shell Recharged and InstaVolt cards with instructions for how to be added if not purchased during the booking process. Once you purchase it, a member of our customer support team will activate it for you, which will take up to 2 working days.

What happens if your card is lost, stolen or damaged?  

If your Shell Recharge or InstaVolt charging card is lost or stolen, you must notify us as soon as possible, so that we can cancel it. If you require a replacement card (for example, because your card is lost, stolen or damaged), let us know and we will order a replacement card for you from the card provider. You will be responsible for the cost of the replacement card.

What happens if your card faulty?  

If your Shell Recharge or InstaVolt charging card is faulty, you must first contact the charging provider (Shell Recharge helpline: 020 3868 1036 ; InstaVolt helpline: 0808 281 4444), and give them the details of your card and the charging unit you attempted charging at. If they can not resolve the issue, contact us and we will order a replacement card.
